Loyal Handley

Mr. Loyal Handley, age 89, of Berry passed away Wednesday, January 06, 2016 at his residence. Visitation was held Friday, January 08, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Norwood Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral Service was held held Saturday, January 09, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Norwood Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Bozeman officiating. Burial followed at Flatwoods Cemetery. Mr. Handley was born May 24, 1926 the son of the late William Handley and Ida Barrentine Handley. He was a life long resident of the Flatwoods Community. He retired from the State of Alabama, Bryce Nursing Home. Mr. Handley was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Mullinax Handley, one son, Warren Handley, one brother, Paul Handley, two sisters, Martie Thacker and Christine Tyner. He is survived by one daughter, Yvonne (Mack) Espey of Berry, AL; a daughter in law, Debbie Handley of Fayette; two grandchildren, Craig Handley and Caitlyn Handley; one sister, Wilma Creel of Birmingham, AL. Pallbearers were Thermon Thacker, David Thacker, Major Bailey, Bob Creel, Terry Creel, Bill Creel, and Paul Handley, Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Gentiva Hospice of Jasper and special caregivers Peggy Bailey and Denise Turner.
