Clement Gurganus

Mr. Clement Gurganus age 86 of Berry passed away Wednesday October 28, 2015 at the DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Funeral Service for Mr. Gurganus will be Saturday at 11:00am at Norwood Chapel with Rev. Victor Bonner, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Flatwoods Cemetery. The visitation will be Friday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home. Mr. Gurganus was born March 28, 1929 the son of the late John David Gurganus and Martha Earnest Gurganus. He had been a life-long resident of the Flatwoods Community. He retired from North River Surface Mines in 1993. Mr. Gurganus and his wife Eloise Earnest Gurganus married in 1950. He is survived by his wife, Eloise Earnest Gurganus; one daughter, Donna Ruth (Carlos) Connell of Pleasantfield; two sons, Jeffery ( Melinda ) Gurganus and Joseph (Lisa) Gurganus both of Flatwoods; 3 sisters, Marie (Leon) Gant of Oakman; Pauline (Lewis) Samllwood of Berry; Zelma (Wayne) Nelson of Berry; 3 brothers, Milton (Robbie) Gurganus of Northport; John David Gurganus of Oakman; Hubert (Claudia) Gurganus of Oakman; 8 grandchildren; Christopher Connell, Trena Wise, Jeremy Gurganus, Austin Gurganus, Josh Gurganus, Johnathon Gurganus , Jason Gurganus, Christie Pendley and 8 great grandchildren; Cody Connell, Abby Connell, Christian Weaver, Huston Gurganus, Zach Gurganus, Bridget Gurganus, Jackob Gurganus,and Lane Pendley. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Gurganus, Johnathon Gurganus, Chris Connell, Jason Gurganus, Shane Pendley. Norwood Chapel of Fayette directing
