Mrs. Nettie B. Canterbury Ballinger, age 89 of Fayette, died Sunday, October 4, 2015 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 7 at 4:00 p.m. at Norwood Chapel with Rev. Darryl Ballew officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery. The visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Ballinger was born March 2, 1926 in Lamar County, the daughter of the late Joe Lee Bryant and Eva McGee Bryant. She was a resident of Fayette since 1955 and was a member of the Fayette First Assembly of God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert H. Canterbury and James L. Ballinger, three sisters and four brothers. Mrs. Ballinger is survived by one daughter, Janice (Gravis) Ballinger of Fayette; one son Rex (Cynthia) Canterbury of Fayette; one sister, Gail (Waymon) Fields of Millport; one brother, Fred Bryant of Millport; four grandchildren, Adam (Cameron) Canterbury, Scott (Wendy) Canterbury, Leslie (Patrick) Brady, Julie (Ben) Stough and seven great grandchildren. Pallbearers are Ben Stough, Patrick Brady, James Canterbury, Jeremy Shaw, Scott Canterbury and Adam Canterbury.
