Coriene Smith Adams

Mrs. Coriene Smith Adams age 92 of Fayette passed away Saturday September 19, 2015 at the Fayette Long Term Care Center. Funeral Service for Mrs. Adams will be Wednesday September 23, 2015 at 11:00am at the Chapel Hill Baptist Church with Ralph Smith and Billy Carl Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Norwood Chapel Funeral Home. Mrs. Adams was born June 11, 1923, the daughter of the late David Austin Smith and Zelma Holliman Smith. She formerly worked for Cadillac Motors and Howard Flint Ind. Co. in Detroit, Mi. She returned home in 1976 and has been a resident of North Pickens Co. in the Ashcraft Corners community since that date. Mrs. Adams was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church. She is survived by: one son, Benny D. Adams of Fayette; 2 grandsons, Jamie Cunningham and Gregg Cunningham, one granddaughter, Savannah Adams; one sister, Pearl Adams of Ft. Myers Beach, Fl.; 3 brothers, Rayford Smith of Memphis, Tn., Preston Smith of Mobile, Al., Max Smith of Detroit, Mi. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben F. Adams and a daughter Dorothy Adams Holladay; 6 brothers, Walter, Ules, Murl, Woodrow, Bill, and Leon Smith; one sister, Ruby Stripling. Norwood Chapel Funeral Home in Fayette, directing.
