Mrs. Robbie C. Perry, age 86 of Fayette, died Monday, January 19, 2015 in Fayette. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fayette First Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Fayette Memorial Gardens cemetery. The visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at the church. Robbie Perry was born Dec. 13, 1928 in Kansas, AL, the daughter of the late Howard Colburn and Eunice Aultman Colburn. She was a resident of Fayette for 64 years and a former resident of Jasper and Guin, Alabama. Robbie graduated from Guin High School in 1946. She graduated from Birmingham Business College and attended classes at the University of Alabama. She was Book Keeper for Fowler Oil Company, Whittemore Shoe Polish Co and Fayette Stock Yards. Robbie owned and operated Robbie’s Store, including Robbie’s of Fayette, Toad Stool for Children, Robbie’s Men’s Shop and Robbie’s Home Furnishings over a period of 57 years. She was a former member of the Silver-Haired Legislature in 1991-1992. Who’s Who in American Women and National Women .She was Alabama Busines Woman of the Year in 1990 and formerly served as President of the Fayette Business Association. Robbie was an active member of the Fayette First Baptist Church; Fayette Co. Chamber of Commerce; the Kidney Foundation of Birmingham and Board of Directors of North West Alabama Rehab Center in Tuscaloosa. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. B.E. (Bob) Perry in 1981. Survivors include her sons, Dr. Bruce Allen (Pat) Perry of Fayette and Andy Howard (Kitty) Perry of Laurel, MS; sister, Marcelle Matthews of Fayette; grandchildren, Brody Perry of Brandon, MS, Brittney P. Rye of Starkville, MS and Brooke P. Dycus of Franklin, TN; Chase Perry of Denver, CO and Brett Perry of New Orleans, LA; great-grandchildren, Mikaela Perry, Bella Perry, McCarley Rye, Mollie Rye and Harper Dycus. Pallbearers are Matthew Rye, Brody Perry, Brandon Dycus, Chase Perry, Brett Perry and Kerry Kerr. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142. Memphis, TN 38148-0142 Norwood Chapel Funeral Home in Fayette, directing.
