Mildred Duck

Mrs. Mildred Duck, age 91 of Belk, died Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Fayette Medical Long Term Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6,2014 at Norwood Chapel with Bro. Jeffery Harrison and Bro. Tony Gartman officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch cemetery. The visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Duck was born March 14, 1923 in Walker County, AL the daughter of the late Samuel Rufus Tubbs and Maude Bates Tubbs. She formerly worked for Westinghouse for 27 years and North America Phillips. Mrs. Duck was a member of the Kennedy Church of God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Lathen Duck Survivors include four daughters, Nona Kay Dalton and Martha (Ray) Gartman of Fayette; Linda Faye Simpson of Vernon; Wanda J. McCaleb of Kennedy; two sons, James Larry (Judy) Duck of Leesville, LA and Jerry L. Duck of Kennedy; 18 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Flatt of Hamilton; Reba McCraw of Bessemer; three brothers, Delano Tubbs, John Tubbs and Mike Tubbs all of Oakman. Pallbearers are Grandchildren.
