Richard Burt

Mr. Richard Floyd Burt, age 64 of Columbus, MS, formerly of Fayette, died Friday, October 24, 2014 at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Graveside services will be held Monday October 27, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Fayette City Cemetery with Rev. Tony Proctor officiating. Richard was born August 21, 1950 in Birmingham, AL, the son of the late Robert Burt, Sr. and Virginia Barnard Burt. He was a Private Businessman and was a resident of Columbus, MS for 45 years. Richard was a former resident of Fayette. He graduated from Fayette Co. High School in 1968 and Mississippi State University in 1972. Survivors include one brother, Stephen (Freida) Burt of Columbus, MS; one niece, Lezli McKellar and one nephew, Robert Burt, III. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Rd., Tuscaloosa, AL 35404. Norwood Chapel of Fayette directing.
