Merle Cargile

Mrs. Merle Cargile, age 84 of Fayette, died Monday, July 14, 2014 at Fayette Medical Long Term Care. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Cook and Rev. John Kearns officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Mrs. Cargile was born February 14, 1930 in Tuscaloosa County, the daughter of the late Tollie and Nora Pendley Miller. She was a resident of the Mt. Vernon community for 60 years and was a member of the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church. She formerly worked for the Fayette County Board of Education for 15 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Rex Cargile; sisters, Ruby Smith and Lilly May Pasero; brothers, Don Miller, Darold Miller, Dalton Miller and Kenneth Miller. Mrs. Cargile is survived by one daughter, Mary Ann (Ted) Brock of Fayette; three sons, Ronnie (Donna) Cargile, Gary Cargile and Rick (Cristy) Cargile of Fayette; one sister, Faye (Norm) Bauer of Madisonville, TN; brothers, Edgar Miller, Wright (Loretta) Miller, Larry (Linda) Miller of Fayette; Glenn (Mary Lou) Miller of Berry and Dwight (Jane) Miller Sugar Tree, TN; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Pallbearers are Jerry Dodson, Brad Williams, Jason Brock, Craig Davis, David Miller and Mike Tallent. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Jon Sanford, Employees of Fayette Long Term Care, Employees of Morningside and Doyle
