Mr. Lewis F. Rogers age 79 of Fayette passed away Monday May 26, 2014 at his residence. Funeral Services will be held Thursday May 29, 2014 at 2:00pm at Norwood Chapel with Rev. Scott Montgomery officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Fayette Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Norwood Chapel Funeral Home in Fayette directing. Visitation will be Thursday at the funeral home from 1:00pm until 2:00pm. Mr. Rogers was born March 3, 1935 in Jefferson County, the son of the late Wiley Solomon Yielding and Cora Mae Rogers Yielding. He was a resident of Fayette Most of his life. He was a member of the Fayette First Freewill Baptist Church and a retired Army Military Recruiter for the National Guard. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Buck Rogers in 2010 and two brothers Wiley Yielding, and Frank Yielding. Survivors include his wife Tama De’Lynn Rogers of Fayette; five daughters, Kaylin Jessica Rogers and Karen Rogers Ellis (Bill) of Fayette, Susan Rogers Stough (Barry) of Northport, Paula Rogers Reiner (George) and Janet Rogers of Orlanda, FL; one sons, David Rogers (Lisa) of Fayette; two sisters, Dorothy Yielding Perkins and Judy Yielding Fowler; four brothers, Walter Yielding, Doug Yielding, Jack Yielding, and Roger Yielding; fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Active pallbearers are Robby Rogers, James Rogers, Will Ellis, Carson Stough, Caleb Rogers, Daniel Thompson and Barry Stough. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Jon Sanford, Dr. Grant Strong, Dr. Roland Colomn, Skylar Williams, Larry Petty, Hospice of Northwest Alabama and The Cancer Center of Winfield Alabama.
