Mr. Una Akin Towery

Mrs. Una V. Akin Towery age 87 of Gordo passed away Tuesday September 24, 2013 at the Fayette Long Term Care Center. Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenhill Memorial Gardens with Rev. Billy Carl Sullivan officiating. Mrs. Towery was born September 17, 1926 in Gordo, the daughter of the late Manly Sullivan and Jenny Maude Robertson Sullivan. She was a life-long resident of Gordo and was a member of the Pleasant Grove Church. Survivors include one daughter, Barbara (Ronald) Waldrop of Belk; five sons, James (Kellie) Akin, Tony (Kathleen) Akin, Steve (Phenicia) Akin, Tim (Sherry) Akin of Gordo and Glen (Kathy) of Millport; eight sisters, three brothers, thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Chad Waldrop, Calvin Akin, Terry Akin, Barry Akin, Donnie Akin and Anthony Akin. Norwood Chapel directing.
