Bennie Corkerin

Ms. Bennie Corkerin, age 66 of Fayette, died Sunday, May 5, 2013 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 9th at 11:00 a.m. at Norwood Chapel. Burial will be in the Madison Cemetery. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00. Ms Corkerin was born August18, 1946 in Berry, the daughter of the late J.D. and Evelyn Franklin Corkerin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Wilma Gene Corkerin and her brother, Thurston Corkerin. She was raised by her grandparents, Nathan and Edna Franklin. Survivors include her companion, Daniel Corkerin of Fayette; seven brothers, Curtis Ray Corkerin of Birmingham; J.D. Corkerin of Tuscaloosa; Edwin Corkerin of Berry; William Corkerin of Fayette; Michael Parrish, Billy Parrish and Vernon Parrish; five sisters, Wendy Tucker (Steve) of Bankston; Tammy Gilliam of Fayette; Ophelia Parrish of Birmingham, Christine Chaney (Ronald) of Cullman and Faye Corkerin of Berry; one grandson, Edwin Lee Corkerin (Emily) and three great grandchildren, Elbie, Chaz and Radley Corkerin. Pallbearers are Joseph Brown, Jeffery Pendley, Ronnie Owens, Thomas Turner, William Corkerin and Randall Turner.
